Kimura now spends most of the day in bed except when he eats three times a day, the city quoted Eiko Kimura, the wife of one of his grandchildren, as saying. He has a good appetite and is particularly fond of red bean cake and rice.
Asked about the secrets of his longevity, Kimura said: "It is my own interpretation. But maybe this is due to some unknown forces of nature."
Kimura was a postal worker in his younger days and he and his wife, who died many years ago, had seven children, five of whom survive.
Kimura's family has continued to grow over the years, and his own children and their offspring gave him 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest Swimming Lesson 3,971, achieved by World Waterpark Association in 73 different locations across the USA, Canada, UAE, Mexico, and South Korea.
The existing world record is believed to be 250 naked bathers in one location.
To qualify for the world record, bathers had to wade into the water until it was up to their waists and stay there, shivering, for 10 minutes. - The Independent
The bathers gathered on the beach just after 7.30am. A rough sea delayed the start, but shortly before 9am the countdown began and, with lots of shrieking and cheering, the crowd ran into the chilly sea, which had a temperature of around 12°C.
Organiser Alison Powell said: 'It was so much better than I could ever have imagined. It was a really beautiful thing to have so many naked people in the water. It was brilliant, it was exhilarating and it was amazing.

The waves were tremendous, they were barrelling in but most people said they were so excited with so much adrenaline pumping they didn't notice the cold.
National Trust Head Warden for the area Sian Musgrave said: 'This has been an amazing day and a really fun way to raise some money. Without donations like this, we couldn't protect and care for this beautiful and special stretch of coastline.'

World's shortest Man Philippines

Junrey Balawing, from a remote town in the southern Philippines, stands just under two feel tall and has been officially declared the World's Shortest Man by Guinness World Records. Balawing, who just turned 18, is 23.5 inches tall, succeeding previous title holder Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal, who is 26 inches tall.

A team from Guinness World Records made the announcement in the remote town of Sindangan, where Balawing lives, on his 18th birthday on Sunday. Claimants for the title must be at least 18 years old.Junrey Balawing

The Guinness team, led by Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday, measured Balawing both vertically and horizontally before declaring him the world's shortest man and handing him a certificate.Junrey Balawing1

Balawing's father said his son, the oldest of four children, stopped growing in his first year. His speech is also stunted and his conversations are limited to short phrases.

Balawing mostly stays at home, needing assistance to move around. His condition has prevented him from attending school.

While the award does not come with a cash prize, Glenday said the team hopes that publicising Balawing's case will draw the attention of medical experts who may be able to help him. Local medical practitioners have not been able to explain his growth disorder.

"The previous record holder had been given medical care... He even had free surgery provided by the U.S.A. So there are benefits to being a record holder," Glenday said.

"We feel for him because of his size. Obviously, being that size, it's quite a compromised life. We hope that by publicising his case, medical practitioners will pay attention."
